In order for all children to be able to achieve their full potential, education must be a means for children to share what they know and to honor Indigenous ways of knowing and being. This course is an opportunity for participants to engage participants with the Indigenous Excellence Framework, developed in 2024 and delivered at the Better Future Forum in 2026.
Objectives
- Develop student impact measures that are meaningful to Indigenous young people, their families, and communities.
- Refine a framework that creates measures of student impact that are meaningful to indigenous young people, their families, and their communities.
- Establish data sovereignty, own our data, measure using self-defined standards, and report in preferred ways.
This course is open to any teachers working with Indigenous young people.
