What does it actually look like to measure holistic student outcomes in a real education system, at scale? This presentation from Teach For Kenya's Racheal Wanjiru and Joakim Okeyo moves beyond theory to show what purposeful holistic measurement looks like in practice — and what it takes to make it transformative.

Grounded in Teach For Kenya's work across 63 schools with 186 fellows, the resource shares how TFK has built a holistic outcomes architecture that connects teacher development directly to student growth. It shows how the TACL framework is being applied alongside foundational literacy and numeracy measurement, social-emotional learning assessment through the CoMSELA pilot, and classroom observation data — and how all of these feed into coaching conversations that shift practice.

Provocation: Measuring What Matters

Through virtual visits to transformational classrooms, schools, and communities around the world, participants explore how educators, families, and students themselves are shaping a locally rooted and globally informed vision of student leadership. The session then challenges the false dichotomy between academic mastery and social-emotional development, introducing the five holistic student outcomes at the heart of the TACL model — wellbeing, connectedness, awareness, agency, and mastery — and asking what it would take to pursue and measure all of them in your own context.

Featuring provocateurs from Teach For Kenya, this session moves from insight to implication, inviting participants to reflect on what a shift toward holistic purpose would mean for their own role.
